At The Skreed, we’re full of crazy ideas. You see, we know that Tony Romo is going to sign a contract extension that will likely make him a Cowboy for the remainder of his career. We question Jerry Jones’ decision but then again this is Jerry Jones. The man who told Jimmy Johnson he can win a Super Bowl without him. The Cowboys haven’t seen a Super Bowl since the glory days of Aikman, Smith and Irvin. Their division rivals have made three Super Bowl appearances. The Eagles who lost to the Patriots and the Giants who beat the Patriots twice. Here are two options we think should happen. Rock with me on this one for a minute.
Option 1: Check it. You do an even swap like the Cutler/Orton trade. It worked out for the Bears at least. So if you take Mark Sanchez and put him on the Cowboys, and take Tony Romo and put him on the Jets then it’s going to work out for both of them. Here’s why. Analysts say that Sanchez needs good receivers to be successful. It’s true. Did he not get to the playoffs twice when he had good receivers? The Cowboys have what he needs. Then analysts say that Romo would win if the Cowboys defense wouldn’t give away games. Jets have a great defense! Problem solved. Both Quarterbacks are heavily criticized because one plays for America’s team and the other on Broadway (really it’s because people think they are mediocre QB’s.) You can’t damage their psyche anymore because the criticism would be the same. If it doesn’t work out, then swap them back. You’ll still have an 8-8 or 10-6 team that can’t get the playoffs.
Option 2: Put trade Sanchez and Tebow to the Cowboys with Romo as the starter, Sanchez as the backup and Tebow as the wildcat option. I say this because Jerry Jones won’t give up his nephew Romo, I mean they may has well be related. Besides, since Jerry is more interested in pimpin out the franchise than winning a championship, you’d sell out Tebow jersey’s and wouldn’t even have to play him. You wouldn’t have to play Sanchez either. But if Romo gets injured, you have an equivalent QB in Sanchez that could take the reins and you wouldn’t lose anything.
Option 2 is the best option for the Jets and Cowboys. The Jets want to get rid of Sanchez without breaking his heart. The Cowboys want to keep Romo but Jones wants to sell hats, jerseys and underwear. America’s team would have an All-American lineup of QB’s.
